About Zoom Workplace
"Zoom" became a verb years ago. The app behind it is now aiming wider: Zoom Workplace folds video meetings, team chat, phone calls, docs, calendar, mail, and a whiteboard into a single place to work, with AI assistance built through all of it rather than bolted on.
The core still does its famous trick well — schedule or join a video meeting with one tap, and move a live call between devices mid-conversation when you need to leave your desk. Team Chat handles messaging with colleagues and outside contacts, Zoom Phone adds real calls and SMS, and Zoom Docs and Whiteboard cover the writing and sketching that meetings generate.
The AI layer is the current headline. A built-in notetaker produces meeting summaries automatically, AI helps you prep before a call and draft messages and content with your work context in mind, and a mountain of unread chat can be caught up on in seconds. On Android, picture-in-picture keeps a call afloat while you multitask, and "Hey Google" voice commands give hands-free control.
Practical notes: many advanced features need a paid Zoom Workplace plan or license, and Pro adds unlimited meetings up to 30 hours, cloud recording, and co-host tools on an auto-renewing subscription. Enterprise-grade security and SSO cover the office requirements. For most people, though, this remains simply the fastest way to get a room full of people talking.
