About Google Flow Music
Google Labs has built a recording studio where the engineer is an AI. Flow Music generates full-length songs from a prompt — start with lyrics or a simple instrumental idea — then lets you art-direct the result by talking to it: ask your 'Producer' to make the bass punchier or sing the lyrics in a deeper voice, and the track changes.
Existing music is raw material too. Upload your own tracks and remix them — change the vocals, shift the vibe — with tools named Covers, Replace and Extend for reworking sections or stretching a song longer. It's iterative by design: generate, complain specifically, generate again.
Then the app wanders cheerfully off the standard path. Spaces lets you build things — custom audio plugins, music games, personalized instruments; the store line calls it vibe-coding your next instrument. And when a song is done, you can direct a music video for it with Google's Veo video model, right alongside the track.
Publishing is built in rather than exported: make playlists, publish your songs, follow artists and get a daily discovery feed of what others make. Remember it's a Labs product — frontier models, experimental edges, 50K+ early users. For musicians it's a sketchpad that talks back; for the rest of us, it's the fastest route from 'song stuck in my head' to an actual song.
