About Zenless Zone Zero
New Eridu is the last city standing, and it survives by sending people into the disasters that swallowed the rest of the world. The Hollows are pockets of warped space full of monsters, mutants, and valuable Ether — and in Zenless Zone Zero, HoYoverse's urban fantasy action RPG, going into them is your job.
You are a Proxy: a guide who leads Agents through the shifting Hollows while keeping a much quieter second life back in the city, around the Random Play video store. That split identity structures the whole game — part neighbourhood life among New Eridu's factions, tycoons, gangs, and officials, part expedition, with each side feeding stories into the other.
Combat is real-time, fast, and built around squads. You swap between Agents mid-fight, stack their abilities, and keep the pressure on; encounters reward aggression and timing far more than patience. The Agents themselves carry the game — sharply designed, expressive, and backed by a soundtrack and a visual style that lean hard into a retro-city flavour you do not see in other action RPGs.
Practical notes: the game includes optional in-game purchases, among them random virtual items, and it plays as an online title, so expect downloads beyond the first install. If HoYoverse's storytelling with quicker, punchier combat sounds like your thing, ZZZ is the studio's most stylish experiment yet.
