About Spirit: Phantom Mane
In Aethelgard, death is a promotion. The shattered realm is overrun with wild spirits and phantom beasts drifting through forgotten ruins, and Spirit: Phantom Mane makes you the commander who binds their souls: part turn-based squad battler, part territorial strategy game, wearing a mane of other people's ghosts. The tone throughout is gothic and unapologetic — the spirits, the listing warns, obey only the ruthless.
Combat is squad-based and deliberate: summon and bind spectral predators, ethereal wardens and nightmare entities — the listing insists, not generic pets — then position them in turn-based fights built around triggering chain-reaction soul effects. Button-mashing is explicitly disowned; placement is the weapon.
Between battles, the SLG half takes over: claim ruined strongholds, raise a citadel from your isolated hideout into a fortress, extract soul-essence, and research your way deeper into the dark. You're not alone in the mist — players form Covenants, this game's alliances, for night raids and conquest, and rifts open onto Nightmare Titans, gigantic corrupted bosses guarding ancient spoils.
Now the reality check the store page's thunder skips: this is a brand-new release — 5K+ downloads and no ratings at all yet. The promised scope is enormous (two genres, alliances, raid bosses), and none of it carries a track record. Genre hybrids live or die on whether the halves feed each other, so early adopters are buying a premise. It is, at least, a stylish one.
