About Stardew Valley

You inherit a farm the way most people inherit trouble: overgrown, fenced with weeds, and sitting in a valley where the local shop is losing to a corporation. Stardew Valley hands you that plot and an open-ended life to build on it — ConcernedApe's farming RPG has no win screen, just seasons, and the question of what kind of farmer, neighbor, and person you want to become.

The farm itself is yours to design: clear fields, rotate seasonal crops, raise animals, and turn harvests into artisan goods and cooked meals that sell for more than the raw ingredients. Your farmer and house are customizable down to hundreds of options, and the work is genuinely relaxing right up until a cave reminds you the game has teeth — deep mines full of monsters and treasure sit a short walk from the tomato patch.

Pelican Town gives the farming a heartbeat. Villagers have schedules, birthdays, and quests; seasonal festivals break up the year; and twelve of the locals are marriage candidates if you want the farmhouse to become a family home. Fishing at the pier, foraging in the woods, crabbing by the sea — the days fill faster than the energy bar allows.

The mobile version is rebuilt for touch, with auto-select tools, auto-save, and several control schemes including a virtual joystick, and it covers 50-plus hours of single-player content with no in-app purchases at all. It won the Golden Joystick Breakthrough Award and a BAFTA Game of the Year nomination, and it keeps earning them one quiet season at a time.
