About Snapseed
The unusual thing about Snapseed is the price: there isn't one. Google's photo editor packs more than thirty professional tools and filters with no subscriptions, no purchases, no ads, and no watermarks — a combination that has made it the default recommendation for phone photography for years.
The editing is non-destructive, so every change can be undone or peeled back to the original at any time, and it opens both JPG and RAW files for people who shoot seriously. Smart masking isolates a subject or background with one tap, so you can fix the sky without touching the face, and the Selective and Brush tools adjust brightness, contrast, or saturation only where you paint them.
The toolkit covers the full darkroom: curves and HSL for precise color, healing to remove the stranger photobombing your group shot, perspective correction for leaning buildings, lens blur for background bokeh, and double exposure for blending two shots. Film simulations recreate historic film stocks, with halation, bloom, and grain for the analog finish.
Newer additions include batch editing — apply a finished look across a whole set at once — and a built-in camera that shoots with your custom styles live, with the effects still editable afterward. Whether you fix one holiday snap or process a whole shoot, Snapseed keeps the process quick and the photo yours.
