About Netflix
The verb needs no explanation. Netflix is the subscription streaming service the rest of the industry measures itself against, and this is its official Android app: award-winning series, movies from around the world, live events, podcasts and games, all in one mobile place — built for watching on the go, on a commute or on a break.
The app itself is engineered around returning viewers. Bottom shortcuts take you quickly between browsing and jumping back into favorites; a clips feed previews what's coming next so discovery happens in seconds; and the 'My Netflix' tab gathers everything you track — favorite moments, and your saved 'My List' titles — in one home.
Recommendations are the other half of the product: personalized picks driven by your own ratings, so the more you rate, the better the shelf fits you. Instant notifications flag new releases and new episodes of the things you follow, which matters on a service whose whole calendar runs on drops.
The money side is plain and stated in the listing: the app is the storefront, and watching takes a membership — a month-to-month subscription that starts at sign-up and can be cancelled easily at any time, per Netflix's own terms. Scale-wise it dwarfs everything else here (1B+ downloads, 4.8 stars); the only curiosity is imported fine print that references the iOS app, an artifact of the listing rather than the product. If you subscribe to one streamer, this is probably already on your phone.
