About Legends of Runeterra
Legends of Runeterra has quietly changed jobs. It launched as Riot's competitive card battler in the League of Legends universe, and that ranked mode is still here — but the center of gravity now is a single-player roguelite adventure, where you pick a champion and fight your way along a branching path through Runeterra.
The cast is the draw: more than 65 champions, from Jinx, Vi, and Caitlyn to Warwick and Ambessa, each with signature powers and a deck built around their personality. Runs work like a roguelite should — every attempt deals you new cards, powers, and relics to bend your strategy around, so the same champion can win two completely different ways on two different days.
Between runs, champions grow permanently through Star Powers, augments you unlock once and keep. That progression aims you at the big fights: World Adventures and Weekly Nightmares stack the deck with iconic villains — Lissandra scheming in the frozen north, the star-forging dragon Aurelion Sol plotting rather larger revenge — and beating them takes experimentation as much as card quality.
League and Arcane fans get the lore treatment too, with the map running from Zaun's alleys to celestial Mt. Targon. As a card game it remains free, generous, and properly strategic; as a roguelite, it is one of the best single-player card crawlers on mobile.
