About Fruit Ninja®
Your finger is the sword. Fruit Ninja is exactly what the name promises: fruit arcs up from the bottom of the screen, and you slash through it mid-air — watermelons, pineapples, kiwis — while pointedly not slashing the bombs mixed in with the harvest. Halfbrick built the entire game around the single most natural gesture a touchscreen has.
Three modes cover three moods. Classic is the pure test: slice everything, because three dropped fruits end your run, and one sliced bomb ends it instantly. Arcade gives you sixty seconds, bomb penalties instead of death, and special bananas — Double Score, Freeze, Frenzy — that turn a good minute into a glorious mess. Zen removes failure altogether: no bombs, no misses counted, just ninety seconds of fruit and rhythm.
The depth hides in the combo. Slicing three or more fruit in a single swipe pays bonus points, so the greedy wait — letting fruit cluster before striking — beats frantic swiping, and powerups and unlockable blades tilt the odds further. Event mode rotates in boss-style clashes against characters like Truffles the pig, for variety.
Sessions last a minute or an hour, and there is nothing to learn that your hand doesn't already know. Billions of downloads in, Fruit Ninja remains the five-second explanation and the five-hundredth replay — the touchscreen's first party trick, still its best.
