About Fortnite
Fortnite on mobile is less a single game than a set of games sharing one island and one wardrobe. The best-known mode is Battle Royale, a fast-paced third-person shooter where you choose an Outfit, explore the Island, and fight to be the last one standing as the Storm closes in. Position, loadout and timing all matter once the safe area starts to shrink.
Zero Build changes the same fight by taking building out of it. You can play solo or team up as a duo, trio or four-person squad, using an Overshield for protection, natural cover on the map, and moves like mantling, hurdling and jumping to stay competitive. Blitz Royale offers a quicker version again, on a smaller map with fewer players, for sessions that need to move fast.
Beyond the battle royale, there is plenty to wander into. Fortnite OG revisits the game's earlier style, LEGO Fortnite opens up explorable worlds, and Fortnite Festival puts a music Icon on stage, where you can perform or remix songs with Jam Tracks. Developer-made multiplayer games add still more variety, from tycoons and deathruns to zombie survival.
Between matches, the Shop offers Outfits, Back Bling and Emotes, while each Season brings a new Battle Pass with rewards such as Outfits, Pickaxes and Gliders, unlocked by completing Quests and earning XP. That steady flow of modes and rewards is why two players can open the same app and end up having quite different evenings.
