About Crossy Road
Frogger grew up, learned jokes, and never ends now. Crossy Road is the endless arcade hopper: tap to hop forward, swipe to dodge sideways, and cross an infinite gauntlet of highways, railways, and rivers — one hop at a time, forever, until traffic, a train, a river, or simple hesitation collects you.
The controls take four seconds to learn, which is the trap. Cars don't slow down, trains announce themselves with a ding and half a heartbeat of warning, and rivers only carry you if you land on what's floating. Standing still is also fatal, so every run becomes a rhythm of commit, commit, commit — then the inevitable, usually hilarious, splat.
What you're really collecting is characters: over 300 of them in Hipster Whale's chunky voxel style, from the original chicken to a unihorse with a candy problem, each tracked on holographic stat cards. Twenty-eight-plus worlds rotate the scenery — oceans, savannahs, outer space — and many characters bend the world around themselves, changing what a run looks and sounds like.
Daily quests and challenges feed the leaderboards, and same-device multiplayer lets friends share one screen and one disaster. It's free, it plays offline, and a quarter of a billion players have hopped before you. The question was never why the chicken crossed. It's how far you get before the truck answers.
