About Ellipsus
Ellipsus is a writing app with a manifesto: no generative AI, no creepy tracking, your words stay yours. It's built by writers for creative writers — novels, stories, serials — and everything in it serves the draft rather than a feed. It works online and offline, so the manuscript travels.
The structure is generous by design: unlimited documents, drafts and folders, and as many collaborators as you care to invite. Collaboration is real-time — write together, leave comments, manage permissions, and track every change through version history. Draft management deserves its name: branch off and experiment with a wild idea without touching the main document, then decide which version lives.
The editor itself stays out of the way — clean, distraction-free, with colorful themes when you want the room to feel different. Practical tools fill the margins: writing sprints and timers to hold you to a goal, unlimited imports from .docx or Markdown, exports to PDF, and a publish option that shares a Reader link where readers can comment and applaud.
It's aimed squarely at fiction workflows — solo drafting, beta readers, editors, co-authoring — rather than office documents, and the early crowd seems pleased (4.7 from a small 10K+ base). If your writing tool keeps offering to write for you and you'd rather it just held the manuscript safely, Ellipsus is the rebuttal.
