Most launchers redecorate your home screen. This one also moves a game into it. Shooting Skies Launcher replaces your Android home layout (only while it's your default — the listing is clear you can switch back to your previous home app anytime) and builds the whole theme around its built-in arcade shooter.

The game lives right on the home screen: Shooting Skies, a take-aim shooter where you bring down incoming missiles, drones, planes and other enemies. The wallpapers are original art inspired by the game. It's a home screen you can play during the boring seconds — waiting rooms, loading screens, queues — without opening anything.

Customization covers the standard four dials, all in Home Settings: color themes for the launcher's scheme, icon shapes to restyle your apps, fonts and home-screen layout options, and gestures — swipes and taps that jump straight to apps or settings instead of the usual two-step dig.

Judge it as a novelty theme with a playable centerpiece rather than a productivity launcher, and it's a likeable package — its users seem to agree (4.7 at 50K+ downloads). If your home screen feels like a filing cabinet and you'd rather it felt like an arcade, this is the swap. Reverting costs nothing but a settings change, which lowers the risk of trying it on a whim.
