About Cardegory: Picture Sort Tiles
Every tile belongs somewhere, and finding where is the whole game. Cardegory is a picture-sorting puzzle: a board of hand-drawn tiles — a cute cat, a red rocket, a slice of cake — and a set of albums, each waiting for the tiles of its category. Spot the ones that belong together, drag them in, and watch them clear.
Two systems keep the sorting honest. First, fill an album to its target count and it clears off the board, with a fresh album dropping in to replace it — and cleared matches rain new tiles down from above, including hidden tiles that only enter play as the board opens up. Second, the quiet constraint: there is no timer, but your moves are limited — clear every tile before they run out.
The content bench is deep by the developer's count: over 6,000 illustrated tiles across animals, food, everyday objects and dozens of less-expected themes, all in a colorful hand-drawn style. Sessions are short, the framing is daily brain training — spotting connections is the exercise — and the game works fully offline, anywhere, with no internet required.
It's the picture cousin of this catalog's word-and-card sorting puzzles (Word Sort, Category Match Solitaire), and the most richly documented of the three. Reception is fair rather than stellar (4.1 stars at 50K+ downloads); the studio, ZenEcho, publishes its policies on simple Google Sites pages, a small-operation tell rather than a flaw. If noticing connections is your idea of relaxing, Cardegory is built exactly for that brain.
