About Block Blast!
Tetris without the falling — and without the panic. Block Blast hands you an empty 8x8 board and a tray of block pieces, and asks a deceptively gentle question: how long can you keep this tidy? Place pieces to complete full rows or columns, watch them burst away, and chase a score that is only ever competing with your own best.
The strategy is spatial honesty. Every piece you place is permanent until a line clears, so the board slowly becomes a map of your earlier decisions. Clearing two or three lines with one piece triggers the combos where the real points live, which means the best move is often the one that sets up a clear two turns from now. Protecting open space is the whole religion.
There's no timer, no opponent, no lives system breathing down your neck. A run lasts until the pieces stop fitting, whether that's four minutes on a bus or forty on the sofa, and daily puzzle challenges add a fixed target when pure score-chasing gets old. The presentation is smooth and bright, the clears pop satisfyingly, and the difficulty is entirely self-inflicted.
It works completely offline — no Wi-Fi, no account, no waiting — which explains a good share of its billion-plus downloads. HungryStudio made the rare puzzle game that respects a short break and rewards a long one equally. Simple to explain to anyone, quietly brutal to master.
