About Armor Sandbox App
Pick something to shoot, pick something to shoot at, and watch what actually happens — that last clause is the product. Armor Sandbox is a 2D impact-physics playground where nothing is a canned animation: every plate, projectile and fragment is made of particles carrying real material properties — density, strength, toughness, melting point, heat capacity — and deformation, fracture, spalling, heat, fire and detonation all fall out of those numbers.
The inventory is a ballistics lab: 110+ materials (steels, aluminium alloys, tungsten, uranium, ceramics, glass, concrete, fuel, explosives, nuclear materials), 70 projectiles from pistol rounds to APFSDS long rods, shaped charges, HESH and railgun slugs, 90+ targets including layered armour, ballistic gelatin, bunkers and working circuits, and 36 vehicle cutaways — T-34-85, Tiger I, Panther, Sherman, IS-2, T-55, T-72 among them. Sixty-plus ready-made experiments run from a simple ricochet to a chain of nuclear devices.
Creation is pixel-level: paint your own projectiles and targets pixel by pixel, assigning a material to every pixel; retune any material's strength, density, heat or explosiveness and every simulation obeys your numbers; wire batteries, capacitors, switches, sensors and detonators into circuits where current only flows where you drew it. The soundscape follows the physics too — impacts sound like the material and the speed involved.
The business model deserves its own paragraph because it's nearly extinct: no account, no ads, no tracking, and nothing you build leaves your device unless you export it yourself. Watching is free — every built-in experiment runs in full — and the paid full version is aimed at makers (painting with energetic, nuclear and electrical materials, editing). Formerly called Armor Simulation, it holds 4.6 stars at 50K+ downloads, runs its physics on a background thread, and speaks five languages. The serious sandbox of this catalog, by a distance.
